Famous Fictional, Babies, wow

So it has been over a year since I posted anything on this blog. Tonight is the Famous Fictional Show, which is what my last post was about last year!
I may not have been busy with posting artwork on the blog but I have been creating during my break away from it.

I found out baby Emma was arriving about a year ago.
Probably the best thing I've ever made :)

Anyway, come on down to Mad Art Gallery tonight to check out some fun artwork.

People, Places, Things... only not people

It's that time of the year again!!! My awesome friend Dan Z's Famous Fictional at Mad Art Gallery!

Here is a sneak peek at a just about finished corner of my piece and a shot of it hardly done at all.
Any guesses on what my famous theme is?

The show is this Friday night if anyone is interested in coming!!!!

Annie's gift

One of my bestest friends in the world is getting ready to have her first child and I wanted to do something special for the baby's room. I did a series of eight little people in 4x6 frames.

Super Post

It's been a while since I had much to show from work so I snapped some pictures this afternoon. I have really been trying to focus on bringing out a more fun and funny element in my signs lately and I'm really having a good time with it. Enjoy!

Plein air St. Charles

Last month I participated for a couple of days in an outdoor painting event. It wasn't as productive as I had hoped it would be but I got one decent painting out of it, and here it is.

Hats Hats Hats

Finished Cinco/Derby Hat
So, I am kind of on a hat making kick right now. It all started with a Kentucky Derby/Cinco De Mayo party I was invited to where you had to wear a hat. I of course went overboard and made my own.

semi-finished just missing taller black feathers and tulle
back of semi-finished hat
So now I am always thinking about making hats and I have made a few and want to make lots more! Here are some of my finished projects.

A headband style with a mosaic of googly eyes

a felt/sea monsterish style
Me modeling a moss and eyeball concoction.

Little People Parade

I never got around to posting pictures of much of my show so these are some of the Little People drawings and paintings that I had. Happily, I sold pretty much all of them and I was really pleased with the reaction I got from them.

I'm pretty sure anyone from my generation played with these little guys and can probably remember chewing on one too. Alas that was probably their downfall (just Darwinism at work in my opinion). I started competitively collecting them when I was a teenager along with my Aunt Julie and mom. You might say we were obsessed. I have a couple hundred now and I still love looking at them and their bite marks and musing over the variety of them and the personality each one contains. I hope you enjoy them too!
